If you turn onto Whelk Street, you will find a pleasant row of colorful houses. The house painted orange and passionfruit houses the Espada family. Their youngest son is a boy of eleven, named Julio Alverez Espada.
Julio has a ragged tumble of dark brown hair. Tight curls frame his fawn-colored face, often streaked with bruises and sunburns. He's an adventurous boy, this Julio. Commonly, he can be seen wearing a white tee shirt with a grainy photo of a sunflower field, an orange hoodie, and jeans. Seems like he's learned fashion from his best friend, Lil Ginger. He smiles with crooked teeth---too poor to afford braces.
